JOB SUMMARY
The Tax Accountant Intermediate is responsible in assisting in the preparation of the Company’s federal and state income tax returns and tax accounting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
• Prepare federal and state income tax returns, estimated payments, and analysis of tax accounts.
• Assist with the tax provision.
• Analyze book/tax differences.
• Assist in implementing tax compliance processes and systems to optimize reporting efficiency and accuracy and maximize organizational cash flow.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and analyze tax reporting information provided by other AMR Departments to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tax returns.
• Facilitate, review, and respond to routine information requests and desk audits from taxing authorities.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
• Federal and state income tax compliance experience, including analysis of book/tax differences. Multi-state experience is important.
• Hands on, detail oriented, strong tax compliance and accounting skills, including account reconciliation and analysis of book/tax differences. Self-motivated. Value-added focus.
Education
• BA in Accounting and 3-4 years of relevant experience OR Master’s in Tax with 0-3 years relevant experience.
• CPA (or CPA candidate).
Skills
• Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Hands on, detail oriented, strong tax compliance and accounting skills, including account reconciliation and analysis of book/tax differences. Self-motivated. Value-added focus.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Computer skills in tax research software and tax compliance software.
